Qi Gong Classes
Join Nancy Fried-Tanzer, M.Ed, for Therapeutic Qi Gong!
This practice consists of three components: slow breathing, gentle stretching movements, and mindful meditation.
Relaxing yet energizing, Qi Gong can relieve many ailments: back pain, neck and shoulder problems, cardiac ailments, low energy, immune function, GI problems, muscle stiffness, arthritic complaints and many other difficulties. Many people benefit from this form of exercise when recovering from surgery or after other medical treatments.

Anyone at any fitness level can take this class!
Qi Gong is practiced barefoot in a standing position.
No mats or special footwear is required.
About the Instructor
Nancy S. Fried-Tanzer, M.Ed, is a Health Educator specializing in Healthy Aging. She is an instructor of several evidence-based courses including "Chronic Pain Self-Management" developed by Stanford University and "Matter of Balance: Fall Prevention Strategies." She incorporates many balance, strengthening and joint lubricating exercises into the warm-ups of her classes.
Nancy was trained in by Dr. Aihan Kuhn of Chinese Medicine for Health in Holliston, Massachusetts and has been teaching Qi Gong (Chinese Yoga) for 12 years. She has also modified the exercises for older adults so that they can be practiced sitting or standing and at each individual's own pace. Nancy enjoys teaching at community centers, independent and assisted living communities, and yoga studios in Westchester.
